In 1962 the local council laid the first pipe from the spring at Agia Paraskevi to a stone bath-house at the edge of the olive grove. For fifty years it served the village. In 2012, when the council put the building up for tender, a young balneology physician sold her Athens flat to keep it running. SpaRetreat is what came next — sixteen beds, eleven therapists, and a continued relationship with the same water.
